Best money we spent on the wedding! Luke was friendly, approachable and entertaining and everyone loved their caricatures - a fantastic memento from the day! Great value and very pleasant to deal with in arranging everything. Could not recommend highly enough.

This was a great addition to our special day. Nobody was expecting it at all.... we've had so many great comments about what a great idea this was. Luke made our guests feel very relaxed whilst he was drawing them. And the idea of him being at our wedding went down a treat.....

We had Mark at our wedding and he was absolutely incredible. All our guests were commenting on how brilliant he was and they all loved their caricatures It is a great memory for our guests to have and a wonderful way to create a tradition between venues. He was polite, professional and friendly and was a great part of our day. He made it very special. Mark went out of his way to make sure he captured my husband and I before he left, which we thought was really lovely of him and goes to show how much of an honest and true professional he is.

Marks caricatures look brilliant, they were exceptional. He interacted with us and our guests and made us all feel very comfortable. Our guests haven't stopped talking about how good the quality and speed the drawings were, and what a great idea it was, it really surprised our guests and they and ourselves absolutely loved it. Great idea for a wedding! And Mark's very skilled!

Mark was perfect for our wedding. Not only is he professional he's got the whole evening timing down to a tee. He's amazing capturing the characters of our guests. We were so pleased we hired him for a private picture for family after. He fascinated everyone and his artwork created a buzz around the venue and people queued up to get their caricatures done. Couldn't have chosen a better entertainer. Amazing talent and skill

Excellent, straight forward to book, reliable, very polite, fitted into the wedding easily, wonderful pictures and a real talking point amongst the guests. Just added that little bit more to the day and produced wonderful memories.
Mark & Tracy
Really great drawings, loved the personal details added to each one. Mark was really nice and friendly and mixed with the guests so well we forgot he was there. Would definitely recommend him to anyone. Have got a great picture of us now hanging pride of place in our lounge.

Being out of the area, we were anxious about booking our entertainment. We originally booked someone else but she cancelled 5 weeks before the wedding date although on doing so, she recommended Luke Warm. We were apprehensive over the change although once we looked at his website and from the moment we made contact, he kindly offered to honour the same price notwithstanding the higher rates quoted on his website which was a relief as we were already over budget! On the day, he turned up promptly, set up without any fuss and did everything that we asked and even stayed an extra half hour without any charge. The drawings were superb and remain a highlight / talking point to the current date. Most of our guests have them framed and constantly say how their friends all pass great comments.

Caricaturing at Cornish Weddings
Luke Warm has been entertaining at weddings, parties and corporate events in Cornwall since 2003 and worked all over the county including venues in Newquay, Truro, Falmouth, St Ives and Penzance and many of the Cornish towns and villages in Kernow listed below. He can draw caricatures outside (provided there's shelter from wind and rain) and often entertains in the gardens of hotels and country houses and in marquees. For drawing after dark he needs enough light to comfortably read the small print in a newspaper - but he'll bring his own light where this isn't available.

What details do you need for a quote?
To give you a quote for either Place Settings or Caricatures Drawn from Photos I need
- the number of people to be included
- the use the drawing will be put to, and
- your deadline
I will then give you a range of options and prices.
For on the spot entertainment I need the date and location of the venue and ideally the start time and duration.
Size?
As a guide 1-5 people can be included at A4 size (210mm x 297mm), 1-15 at A3 (297mm x 420mm), 1-30 at A2 (420mm x 594mm) and 1-40 at A1 (594mm x 840mm) . However the more people on a given size of paper the less room for background details and context - packing too many people in can make a drawing end up looking like a school photo! A3 is the most popular size and makes a handsome present.
Photos?
The quality of your caricature will depend directly on the quality of your photos - by far the most important ingredient!
I need hardcopy printed photos to work from - at least 2-3 recent, close, clear, happy, smiling pictures of each person, without hats or sunglasses, showing the complete outline of the head. Ideally the head needs to be at least 2" high - a good test of a picture is whether you can make out the eye colour - and there needs to be enough clear detail to allow the caricature to be drawn several times larger than in the photo.
I also need photos of all the props and background items to be included.
Professionally printed photos are best - online digital printer Snapfish offers 40 free prints with your first upload. All pictures will be carefully looked after and returned to you.
Uses?
The most popular reasons caricatures from photos are commissioned are fro birthday and leaving and retirement presents.
Family portraits of up to 30 people have been commissioned for Paper, Silver, Ruby, Gold, Emerald and Diamond wedding anniversaries.
In the corporate world they're often commissioned as 'financial tombstones' to celebrate the completion of a project - with all the key members having signed and dated copies.
Large group caricatures are very popular as Mess drawing for the military (Officer's, Warrant Officer's, Sergeant's Messes etc) - they build team spirit!
Black & White or Colour?
For the classic, timeless look it's hard to beat B&W - great for wedding invitations and formal occasions. Adding colour will give the caricature warmth and fun.
Copies
Signed and numbered copies of group caricatures can be arranged - printed in Epsom DuraBrite ink on heavy 160gsm glossy photo card - so that everyone in the drawing has a copy.
How do I get the best results?!
Well organised clients get the best work - by keeping emails short and clear, maintaining the entire email thread, providing good quality photos, layout drawing and and brief - and so allowing me to put the maximum amount of time into the drawing itself.
