Luke Warm has just won the Judges Choice Award at the 2013 Westcountry Wedding Awards - there were 138 entrants! He's been a finalist at these awards every year since 2009 and was delighted to win the Best Entertainment Award in 2009, 2010 & 2011 - a big thank you to all the couples who kindly voted and made this happen!

Caricatures of the happy couple drawn in advance from photos (like the one of William and Kate above) are now in high demand.
These days it's possible to print on almost anything and as well as illustrating Save the Day cards, Invitations, Menus, Thank You notes etc caricatures drawn from photos by Luke Warm have also been used on personalised wine labels, balloons, banners...
Caricature tee-shirts can be great for hen and stag nights and mousemats and mugs can make unusual and useful wedding favours! A caricature of the Bride and Groom can even be printed onto edible film and used to decorate cakes!
Couples sometimes ask for their caricature drawing to have a wide border or spaces planned into the drawing for guests to sign on the day - a highly original guestbook.

As featured on pages 144-147 of the Winter 2012 edition of DIY Weddings Magazine, Luke Warm's Place Setting Caricatures are great ice breakers and also of course highly original wedding favours.
Most of the weddings Luke Warm entertains at are in the sunny south west - Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire. He usually starts drawing on the spot just as the guests arrive after the wedding ceremony and the first glass of champagne is being poured. From then until the start of the Wedding Breakfast family and close friends tend to be fully occupied with greetings and photos and he can help break the ice for other guests who may be less involved.
The other popular time is between the Wedding Breakfast and the evening entertainment when he can keep the excitement levels up and the party bubbling.
Working on the spot it takes him 5-6 minutes to draw each person and in a typical booking of 2.5 hours he would expect to draw 25-30 people and in 3 hours 30-35. When he's drawing one person there are almost always 4 or 5 others watching and being entertained. He can work standing or sitting and can bring lights and banners to set up an informal caricature studio if required.
He often use a combination of these approaches initially working standing up and then later on moving to a seated caricature area he's set up earlier with lights andbanners to draw couples and small groups.
The only time that caricaturing really doesn't work at a wedding is during the speeches - he's too distracting! - though he's often been asked to entertain the children during this time.
